Three simple ways to deepen your spiritual practice

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to spirituality but I’m happy to share what I do on a daily basis. Many of the spiritual creatives that I work with will start here when developing their own practices.

Every morning, after I sweat my little heart out at the gym or on a run, I do the following:

  • Meditate. I do this because I know there will be a thousand booby-traps set to take me off course. I love the Headspace app.

  • Read a few pages from a book I find inspiring. Brene Brown, Anne Lamott, Jen Sincero, Marianne Williamson, and Elizabeth Gilbert are my soul sisters. 

  • Talk to The Universe. This is my version of prayer. I ask questions, I listen, and I expect nothing in return. I do this because it helps me to be a little more comfortable living in the mystery and not having all of the answers.

Align yourself with The Universe, not the rules and constraints of the tiny World around you: “Listen, listen, listen.”
