#RealTalk Ep. 110 - The Content Creator
What's the value in actors creating their own content?
If you want to change your acting career, create content. Hands down, it's the number one thing that can do it for you. Why? You get a credit to add to your resume. You get photos you can use from screenshots you have done that you can use in e-mails, newsletters, on front of your postcard, or use on your website. You're networking, because you can then put that piece of content into a web series, like a festival or a film festival of some sort that you can then submit. Maybe even you can do this, maybe have auditions for your project that you are working on so that you get to be on the other side of the audition table. You get to see how actors access work. You get to see how that casting works. You get to be on the other side of the table. You add that material to your reel. I know a lot of you out there are worried about your reel.
Last but not least, you can practice that content in class, in your acting class. You are actually getting out there and creating art around it. You learn how to do the acting beats with the script you have written. Content, to me, is King when it comes to revolutionizing your career and I know that when I say that it causes anxiety.
“Where do I start with this?” I totally get it. This has only been a minute long. I can only do so much.
